Wednesday nights of every second week click on the Meetings link to find out the
dates.
Where do you meet?
O'Donovan's Hotel on the main street in Clonakilty - the room we use varies but
it's always posted on the notice board just inside the door.
Do I need a fancy camera to be a member?
Not at all, excellent pictures are possible with any kind of camera.
What about Digital / Film?
We have members who shoot both film and digital. Many members have shot
on film for years and only recently converted to digital.
What are the rules for the bi-monthly league?
The 5 rounds of the league count towards the Photographer of the year,
the rules are detailed here.
How do I get a gallery account?
Ask one of the committee or the webmaster to set you up -
email the
webmaster. Gallery accounts are only available to paid-up members of the
club, after a reasonable amount of time galleries of non paid-up members will be
removed.
How do I upload pictures?
Go to Member Galleries, then the Gallery allocated to you - logon to
the gallery.
On both sides of the screen you'll see a link to the sidebar - look for
the "Add items". This will give you a screen where you can add your pictures.
What if I want to upload several pictures at once?
You can use a zip file - but all your pictures in a zip file and choose
the zip file in the Add item dialogue. The pictures will automatically be
extracted and resized.
What size should my pictures be?
The gallery will automatically resize the pictures to 600 pixels on the
longest edge. However, if your logged on to your own gallery you will be able to
see the picture at it's original size. Bear in mind that the club has limited
disk space, so we'd appreciate if you don't upload the files straight off your
camera as they will be very large and consume space un-necessarily.
If you resize them to 1000px on the longest edge first, they'll upload
faster and consume less space.
What about people stealing my images?
This is the reason why we're getting the gallery to resize to only 600
pixels, this size of image is not usable for printing much bigger that 3 inches.
If you are very concerned - watermark your images - if you don't know how just
ask any of the photoshop users in the club.
What's the best camera ?
This is like the question, what's the best car ? (Rolls Royce obviously
but I won't be buying one of those anytime soon.) Go to the
